Safeguarding Policy
LPA tutoring should protect students, respect boundaries and keep communication clear for parents, guardians and learners.
- Students under 18 should have parent or guardian awareness and consent before tutoring begins.
- Lesson links, lesson timing and communication routes should be agreed before regular support starts.
- Any concern about a student's welfare, behaviour, communication or lesson environment should be raised promptly.
- If there is immediate risk of harm, the responsible adult should contact local emergency services or the relevant safeguarding authority first.
Parent or Guardian Consent
Parent or guardian involvement is important for under-18 learners and for any tutoring arrangement where a responsible adult manages booking or payment.
- A parent or guardian should know the student's tutor, subject, lesson schedule and communication route.
- The parent or guardian should provide accurate contact details and update LPA if circumstances change.
- Progress updates can be shared with the parent or guardian where appropriate for the student's age and arrangement.
- Students should not be asked to share unnecessary private information during tutoring.
Communication Rules
Communication should stay professional, relevant to learning and visible to the right responsible adult where needed.
- Tutoring communication should use agreed channels such as email, WhatsApp or the lesson platform.
- Messages should relate to scheduling, homework, resources, academic progress or service administration.
- For under-18 students, parent or guardian involvement in communication should be used where appropriate.
- Inappropriate, personal, abusive or unrelated communication may lead to lesson suspension or a safeguarding review.
Online Lesson Code
Online lessons should feel focused, respectful and suitable for academic support.
- Students should join from an appropriate location and be ready with required materials.
- Cameras, microphones and chat should be used in a way that supports learning and respects privacy.
- Lessons should not be recorded unless everyone who needs to consent has agreed in advance.
- The tutor may end or rearrange a lesson if the environment, behaviour or technical setup is not suitable.
Safeguarding Escalation
Safeguarding concerns should move quickly to the right responsible person or authority.
- Concerns can be raised through info@lpaeducation.com or the agreed parent or guardian contact route.
- LPA will record the concern, review the immediate risk and contact the parent, guardian or relevant authority where appropriate.
- Where local law, school policy or provider policy applies, those procedures should be followed by the responsible adult or organisation.
- LPA may pause tutoring while a safeguarding concern is reviewed.
